BLAZERS

BULLS

EDGE

COMMENT

Derrick Rose continues to be a front runner for rookie of the year, even though his last few games haven't been quite like the splash he made early in the season.  He's experienced growing pains but he'll still be solid tonight against Portland.  I think he wins this match-up simply due to his size and athleticism, the skills don't hurt either.

Brandon Roy came back in a big way Saturday.  He did his usual Super man impression, ending a Warrior run towards the end of the game and sealing the deal for the Blazers.  He looked very good coming off injury and that dunk off the inbound pass was just sick. I like Roy tonight against a smaller Ben Gordon.

Luol Deng has been out for a few weeks and is currently expected to return tonight. If he returns, he'll have to knock off the rust but he'll be plenty capable of that. Hopefully Batum can throw him off early with defense and keep Deng from getting into a groove.

Coming off of injury, Drew Gooden has been back with a purpose. Averaging 18 and 11 in 3 games, his aggressive, get after the boards mentality will be a challenge for LaMarcus.  LA isn't the banger power forward some have called for, but the toughness and aggressiveness lately has been great. LaMarcus will have a good day against the team who originally drafted him.

Aaron Gray has also been nursing injuries, assuming he plays, I like the match-up. Gray's lack of talent will help Oden improve on his offense. Gray is basically just a big body in the line-up to bang with opposing centers.  Look for Greg to get a double double tonight.

BENCH

BENCH

The Bulls team overall is somewhat confusing.  I've never seen so many potential/talented guys who are so inconsistent.  Assuming the starters play, the Bulls bench does have options.  Nocioni can get going, Hughes can shoot it when he wants to, Tyrus Thomas can get it going.  I think the benches match-up well talent-wise where Przybilla, Travis, Rudy and a little dose of Bayless will help get us this win.

OVERALL DECISION:

TRAIL BLAZERS

We are going to drop the hammer tonight! Probably wont be a 45 point win like last time, more of a close game throughout with Superman taking it over in the 4th, Blazers by 7.

I think this victory for The Gambler almost deserves some special recognition. It has to be over a month now since he last won. Congrats to the Gambler!
