Chris Dudley for Governor?

The former Trail Blazers center, who has shown political interest in the state of Oregon, may in fact be announcing his candidacy. Here's his update on Facebook:

I want to first and foremost thank you for your support and encouragement. Tomorrow, I plan to make a major announcement regarding my potential candidacy for Governor of Oregon and would be honored if you are able to attend. The announcement will take place at Self Enhancement, Inc., located at 3920 N. Kerby Ave in Portland, and the doors will open at 10:45 AM. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning.

Considering Dudley went to Yale, and has always been known as an intelligent guy, this isn't your average athlete running for political office.

He's quickly gained over 2,600 fans on Facebook and the support will no doubt get stronger. He also has a website. Combining modern day tools to spread the word, and already holding the support of many sports fans, Dudley may be a solid option for Oregon as Governor. In fact, he may already have our vote.

Dudley's chances of winning Oregon are slim with that little "R" showing up next to his name on the ballot.
