BLAZERS

KINGS

EDGE

COMMENT

Udrih has been inconsistent this year, I'm betting the Kings wish they had Mike Bibby's leadership back.  Despite Steve Blake's struggles last Friday, I am feeling a bounce back game at home.  Look for similar numbers from these two point guards.

Other bad news from the Clipper loss department was Brandon Roy tearing a tendon in his finger.  He was deemed fine to play but how is this going to affect his game? Kevin Martin remains out but Francisco Garcio has filled in nicely offensively.  Roy, even injured, should be able to win this match-up at home.

Salmons has been the best player on the Kings with Kevin Martin out. He always gets into the offensive mix and ends up close to the basket.  He's scored 20 in 3 of the last 5 and with Batum's struggles he'll take the match-up.  Batum being all over the floor on both ends will be key for the Blazers.

Brad Miller has really seemed to go downhill lately.  His usual all around game has deteriorated and now he is somewhat of an NBA old man.  He can still go out and shoot the jumper so I'm sure LaMarcus will guard him.  Speaking of LA, I really need to see some tough D and board crashing against Sac.  I think it will happen.

Hawes is having a marginally good season, averaging over 10 and 8 in December.  Last game in Portland Spencer got the best of Greg and even hit three 3-pointers.  I don't see that happening again.  Greg got going against the Clippers with 15 and 15 and I expect him to show Hawes what he's all about. It's business time.

BENCH

BENCH

Rudy has been up and down this year, Travis was out last game and the rest of our bench has been a bit underwhelming.  After a long 3 day break I expect our bench to show up in a big way in the Rose Garden.  Let's get back on track and start a winning streak at home.

OVERALL DECISION:

I've never had an injured tendon in my finger but Kobe has supposedly been playing with one since last season's playoffs and the casual fan wouldn't know the difference...so maybe it's not that big of a deal???

Maybe Roy can get his hands on that same custom splint that Kobe uses

I expect Roy to not get as filthy as he has in our last three games. This means that everyone else will need to get their S in gear. I think Pry will have a very solid game, and hopefully Rudy will have his stroke back after a few days off. And as for Steve Blake, it is going to take a lot of work from you to get off my S list, better start tonight! Blazers by 6

Kyle....your prediction basically means that the Blazers should lose by 7. I've done the math on your past predictions.

Im pretty sure the Kings will win this one. The spirit of CWebb, Peja, Vlade, Doug, and Bibby will reignite this sad little squad....

By the way, big fan of your blog guys.

Kobe tore a ligament, not a tendon. Brandons will heal on its own...Kobe needs surgery.
